Principal Officer – Apprenticeships & Public Policy Partnering, Dept. of Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science

Sarah’s career has largely been spent in the broader education and training field, through national agencies and central Government departments. With considerable experience in the area of public service reform, she joined the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science in 2021, where she has responsibility for the Apprenticeship and Public Policy Partnering unit. In this role, she is responsible for apprenticeship policy and construction skills and green skills policy.

A particular focus within construction skills is on construction safety, and Sarah is working with partners across the sector to advance the Construction Safety Licensing Bill 2023. Approved by Government in December 2022, the draft Bill aims to improve safety training arrangements for workers in construction and quarrying activities.

Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Master of Arts (Politics), Master of Arts (Public Management) and is completing a Master of Science in Business (Leadership & Management Practice).
