Niamh Smyth TD, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment with special responsibility for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation. TD for Cavan–Monaghan Fianna Fáil blood flows deep in Niamh as a grandniece of former Minister Paddy Smith. Niamh is dedicated and ambitious as your TD and serves all constituents and Ireland with energy, enthusiasm and passion. In January 2025, Niamh was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment with special responsibility for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation. In her previous role as Chair of the Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht, Niamh was provided with the wonderful opportunity to support, develop and cherish our rich heritage and evolving culture. As a people, our collective experience of different traditions and beliefs is the pathway to our Shared Island. Niamh is acutely aware of the pressing issues that are causing heartbreak and trauma to the lives of people even under the heavy cloud of Covid-19. Top of her priorities include the reduction of housing and hospital waiting lists, the development of adequate child services, supporting farmers and fighting for the repair and upgrading of our rural roads. Very much linked to these issues is the everyday concerns of people and giving all problems justified attention. Your peace of mind and personal contentment is paramount to Niamh and she is at your service.
